Me, Myself and I: Memoir and the Narrative Self

“We tell ourselves stories in order to live.” —Joan Didion

We are our most trusted source of material when it comes to writing and art-making. What do you notice? What memories and life events do you turn over in your mind? What story have you wanted to tell from your life, your noticing? How could you convey this narrative with language and images in book form?
In this workshop we will write in response to prompts and images to dive into our inner narratives. We will use memory as a kind of malleable substance to shape and develop for our books. We will write and share with others before editing our material into a single sheet mock-up book.
